Life is Crazy!

Hello everyone!  It has been a crazy few weeks, and I figured it was time for an update.  Baxter has been rocking classes and public access, and he has also been excelling at all the training we have been doing.  I especially love working on diabetic alert with him because he has such a great nose.  Last week, a potential diabetic alert client came to our ADEPT meeting, and it was really cool getting to see how all the dogs reacted to her.  A whole Type I Diabetic is a lot different from one little tube of saliva!

Last weekend, I went home to celebrate my birthday with my family, and Baxter and I went on a few public access trips and then spent the beautiful day on Sunday out hiking with Theo and my parents.  Baxter gets along so well with my dog and cat; my cat, Percy, even took a nap right next to Baxter's head, and he didn't bat an eye.

Last week, we had classes as per usual, but we recently found out that classes at my university are being moved to alternative modes of delivery (in most cases, this means online) until the end of the semester due to the COVID-19 outbreak.  A lot of stuff is still up in the air, but as of now, I am still on campus working.  I don't know if that situation will change anytime in the near future, but regardless, Baxter will hopefully be either staying in town with me, or I will be bringing him home to live at my parent's house for awhile.  Due to the suggestion that we all practice social distancing, a lot of the big public access trips may have to be put on the back burner, but I will try to continue uploading some small trips and training sessions at home!  It is a slightly stressful time, but we are all working to make it flow as well as possible in these crazy times.  I will try to keep you all updated, but in the meantime, stay safe and stay pawsome!
