It's been awhile since my last post. I have been staying very busy with work, volunteering at the clinic with Theo, preparing for the big move (a month from tomorrow), and lots more! Because of how busy I have been, I haven't gone on as many public access trips with Charlie as I was hoping to at the beginning of the summer, but we have been going out on a few fun trips. One of my favorite days with him was the day I filmed A Day in the Life of a Service Dog in Training on my YouTube channel. We went to the mall and Target and had a super fun filled day!
A couple days ago, Charlie got to come with me to my annual wellness exam at Gundersen clinic. I was a little nervous to take him, not because I doubted his behavior, but rather because I tend to get a little freaked out by medical appointments. I didn't want my lack of confidence to go down the leash. When we got there though, I realized that his presence actually made me feel a lot better because I had something else to focus on besides my utter terror of pokey things. Charlie was an absolute superstar! He settled perfectly in the waiting room, and he didn't seem thrown off by any of the weird sounds, smells, or anything else in the clinic. The only thing that gave him a little pause was the bed I had to lay in because it made a funny sound when the doctor made it go up. I am so proud of this munchkin and everything we have accomplished in the past few months. It is hard to believe our time together is almost up. There will be a time for that sappiness though, so until next time, stay pawsome!
