On July 27, 2019 I began my journey from my home for the last ten years to my newest destination in life.  I spent an entire five days in a car with my mom and Theo driving from Wisconsin to California.  I would like to say it was fun to drive that far, but I can't say it was my favorite thing in the world.  The stops on the other hand were a blast!

Our first stop was in Omaha, NE.  We got to spend the night at my cousin's apartment.  It was so fun to see the campus she goes to school at and get to hang out with her.
On our way to our next destination, we decided to get out of the car for a little bit and stopped at Cabela's.  Theo had a fun time looking at all the stuffed wildlife.  Next stop was Wellington, CO where we got to stay with my aunt for the night.  We went for a lovely walk around the neighborhood and then had a movie night.  The following day, we drove all the way to Salt Lake City, UT.  We were pretty tired by that point, so we got take out from Cracker Barrel and went to bed early.

From Utah, we went on to Reno, NV.  We had a little bit of a scare when my tires started making a squeaking sound.  After checking the owner's manual we decided it was something to do with the brakes and should probably be checked out at our next stop.  We found a shop near our hotel and dropped the car off to get checked over.  My brakes ended up needing to be replaced, and we felt much better driving through the mountains with working brakes!

My mom and I went to Bab Cafe for dinner, and it was SO good.  Too bad it isn't a super common food because I would eat it every day!  There was also a super cute little dog park near our hotel.  We took Theo there to run some energy off later at night once it had cooled down.  My mom and I ended up putting on some robes and eating some cheese and crackers before going to bed pretty early again.
Our final day took us all the way to my new home in northern California.  We decided to take a little detour and drive around the east side of Lake Tahoe.  When we got to the southern tip, we decided to stop for lunch at this cute little place right on the beach.  They had awesome burgers and an amazing side salad to go with it!  The best part was that it was dog friendly, so Theo got to hang out under the table.

Theo was an absolute champ the whole drive.  I think he had even more patience for the whole thing than my mom and I did!  He is loving our new place (his favorite thing to do is lounge in the sun with me), and I am so excited for everything that is to come.  I had my first couple days of class at Bergin which deserves its own post, so I won't talk about it yet.  A big thank you to my mom and dad for supporting me in this big change.  I miss you all!  Until next time, stay pawsome.
